Our New Look!!!………….. Where are we going from here?? With 35 Years behind us, I have reflected over the many steps of change that have brought us to the edge of retirement. This is a journey and there have been many bends in the road along the way. When I first started I visited a consulting firm in Edmonton. After many hours of brainstorming I reluctantly removed “Mon-Gee” from my business name, a name that meant a lot to me. “Mon” was used because it represented my father’s surname and “Gee” for Geraldine. However it did not have ‘sales’ appeal. We developed a new marketing plan and expanded the business into a spa. Then came the big change. A computer program would make business more efficient so I embarked on the technology world. When I first started Pat Welter of Masterhand Designs was launching his career and made me my…Read More.

Greetings from the Solarium at Sunrise Wellness Spa. What is the importance of going to a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)? An RMT has completed two years of massage therapy school and has passed the Board Exams of the Massage Therapy Association of Saskatchewan (MTAS). The Provinces have worked hard to develop a high standard of massage education nationally. They have worked diligently with Insurance Companies, WCB and SGI to comply to the highest standard of massage education in Canada. The Board exams are another safe guard of quality treatment you will receive. When a therapist has passed the written and practical Board exam, the therapist then receives designation of RMT and you as a client will then be able to be reimbursed by the many insurance companies that cover massage therapy as well as WCB and SGI. To maintain the designation of RMT the therapist must earn 40 credits through…Read More.
How to Stay Healthy? You Start with Your Skin! Our skin is the largest organ of our body and the fastest growing. It needs to be clean and free of dead skin cells to function at its best. Our skin weighs 16% of our body weight; approximately 8lbs. It covers 22 Sq Ft. Your skin cells go through a 28 day cycle and as you age the cell regeneration process slows down to approximately 37 days. There is no other organ that is more actively engaged in discharging impurities from the body than the skin; it is a close relative with the lungs and kidneys. I introduced dry brushing into the spa and added it on our spa menu to give a natural choice to skin health. In the beginning I had skin brushing as a stand-alone treatment that was offered in Europe. We have now added the Dry Brushing…Read More.
