We are sad to see an iconic building in Unity go. The Red Rooster was the first business to go up that served soft ice cream and make you sub sandwiches. It served gas and was a confectionery store so if you ran out of bread, milk or ingredients for your muffins that evening you could run down and grab what you needed. The Red Rooster provided a hangout location for all the young children in the summer giving them lots of wonderful memories to cherish. We used it as a landmark for directions to get to the Spa and now we will use the Country Car Wash as our landmark to turn right and you can see the Spa from Railway Road. Eileen Baptiste and the late Joe Baptiste were the last wonderful owners who gave this unique service to a small Saskatchewan town! Thanks, Geraldine BarrettRead More.
