Greetings from the Solarium at Sunrise Wellness Spa.
What is the importance of going to a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)?
An RMT has completed two years of massage therapy school and has passed the Board Exams of the Massage Therapy Association of Saskatchewan (MTAS).
The Provinces have worked hard to develop a high standard of massage education nationally. They have worked diligently with Insurance Companies, WCB and SGI to comply to the highest standard of massage education in Canada.
The Board exams are another safe guard of quality treatment you will receive.
When a therapist has passed the written and practical Board exam, the therapist then receives designation of RMT and you as a client will then be able to be reimbursed by the many insurance companies that cover massage therapy as well as WCB and SGI.
To maintain the designation of RMT the therapist must earn 40 credits through continuing education over a window of 3 years. MTAS has approved many courses that one can choose from to upgrade and accumulate more tools for their tool kit, thus having a wide choice of methods to choose from when providing a massage treatment.
The Associations have worked with insurance companies and Blue Cross to assure them that the clients are receiving professional quality treatment for their accident injury and or health issues.
MTAS members must carry liability insurance as well.
I am passionate about continuing education and have travelled far and wide to take many courses that I was attracted to. It is so exciting and rewarding to learn in order to give you the most effective treatment.
Gift Cards cannot be reimbursed through any insurance company or Blue Cross.
Check the designation of your massage therapist. Ask to see their certificate from MTAS.
