20 Signs You Aren’t Drinking Enough Water

20 Signs You Aren’t Drinking Enough Water by Janice Taylor

The human body has a built-in mechanism for telling us when we need to drink water – the feeling of being thirsty. Unfortunately, with an alarming two out of three individuals living with some form of chronic dehydration, many people have simply become numb to the sensation. If you are among the majority and have an ongoing water deficit, there are some other less-obvious signals which indicate that your body is parched.

Read over the following 20 common symptoms of chronic dehydration. If any of them apply to your day-to-day life, it could be that your body is trying to warn you that you’re not drinking nearly enough water.

  1. Chronic Fatigue

Blood and other bodily fluids are comprised mainly of water. When you get dehydrated, your blood becomes thicker and your heart has to expend more energy to keep oxygen and nutrients moving throughout the circulatory system. If you feel tired every day and there doesn’t seem to be a cause, drinking more water could be the solution.

  1. Cholesterol Imbalance

Dehydration signals your body to increase its production of cholesterol in order to thicken cellular walls and preserve the fluid contained in them. As a result of this defensive process, blood-cholesterol levels also increase and can easily become imbalanced.

  1. High or Low Blood Pressure

The decrease in overall blood volume caused by dehydration may manifest as consistently low blood pressure. Over time, the increase in blood-cholesterol can cause arterial build-up and eventually plaques which increase blood pressure to potentially unsafe levels.

  1. Impaired Memory and Concentration

Slackened blood flow caused by chronic dehydration robs your brain of the oxygen and nutrients it needs to perform at peak capacity. As a result, you may find that your memory and concentration become severely impaired.

  1. Light-Headedness, Dizziness or Vertigo

Living in a constant state of dehydration can cause you to experience frequent dizzy spells and light-headedness due to lack of blood flow and oxygen to the brain. In severe cases, vertigo and nausea may result.

  1. Frequent Headaches

Both lack of oxygen and increase in blood pressure are the perfect recipe for frequent headaches. If you notice that you seem to be getting them more often, try drinking more water on a daily basis to ease the strain on your brain.

  1. Mood Swings or Irritability

Just as is characteristic of being hungry, the need for water tends to make people unusually moody and more easily irritated. Also, with all of the other possible negative effects on your brain and other organs, chronic dehydration can throw of your hormone balance and cause persistent depression, anxiety and other mood disorders.

  1. Stomach Pain or Ulcers

Water acts as a buffer between the acidic contents of your stomach and the stomach lining. Being in a state of constant dehydration leaves the inside of your stomach largely unprotected and the constant acid exposure can easily result in ulcers or frequent stomach aches.

  1. Constipation or Poor Digestion

In order to properly process the foods you eat, your intestines need a steady supply of water. Without adequate fluids, digestion can slow down causing constipation, gas and bloating, or even the passing of seemingly undigested food.

  1. Craving Sweet or Salty Foods

Your liver requires water in order to break down fat cells and use the energy stored there to fuel your body and maintain stable blood-glucose levels. When you get dehydrated and your liver can’t perform this important function, you’ll start to crave foods like sweets and salty foods which your body recognizes as easy sources of energy.

  1. Inability to Lose Weight

Because it saps your energy, impairs digestion and frequently causes unhealthy cravings, dehydration can also make it nearly impossible to lose weight. Furthermore, since your body can’t break down fat stores without adequate hydration, even if you force yourself to exercise, you probably won’t be getting the results you want out of your workout.

  1. Urinary Tract Infections

A good supply of water is absolutely crucial for the proper function of your urinary tract. When you become dehydrated, your kidneys and bladder will try to stretch what little water it does have last as long as possible. Unfortunately, without a semi-constant stream of fresh urine to flush them out, bacteria have more time to replicate and overpopulate inside the cozy, warm environment inside of your urethra and bladder.

The most obvious sign that your kidneys and bladder are at risk of becoming the next big vacation hotspot for unicellular organisms can be found in the color of your urine. If your flow is consistently darker than a pale shade of yellow, you need to up your water intake, asap!

  1. Gout Flare-Ups

Gout is caused by a build up of uric acid which crystallizes around the joints – usually in the hands and feet – which cause intense sharp pain. Because your kidneys need water to flush excess uric acid out of your body, dehydration is one of the biggest factors which contribute to gout flare-ups.

  1. Muscle Cramps and Joint Pain

Water is your body’s natural lubricant and cooling system. Without it, your muscles will overheat and seize up and your joints will start to grind. Keep your body in good working order with a constant supply of hydration.

  1. Itchy Dry Skin, Chapped Lips and Dandruff

Because your skin is in constant contact with the surrounding environment, it loses water faster than the rest of your body. As such, probably the most obvious warning signs of chronic dehydration are persistent dry skin, chapped lips and dandruff.

  1. Eczema Outbreaks

Eczema outbreaks can be triggered by a variety of different factors, both environmental and internal. Excessively dry skin – such as that caused by constant dehydration – ranks at the top of the list for many people with the condition.

  1. Premature Aging

Without adequate hydration, skin loses its elasticity. Also, due to hampered blood flow (which we discussed briefly in #1), a long-term lack of water also robs your skin cells of the nutrients they needs to regenerate. Consequently, living in a constant state of dehydration accelerates the formation of wrinkles, fine lines, crows feet, sagging or loose skin, and other signs of aging.

  1. Frequent Respiratory Problems

From the inside of your nose down into the lower reaches of your bronchi, our entire respiratory tract relies on mucus to keep its tissues moist and supple and to prevent foreign particles out of your lungs. A lack of adequate hydration hinders mucus production, thus hindering your respiratory system’s ability to deflect allergens like dust, pollen and pet dander or to defend itself against infection from viral and bacterial invaders.

  1. Chronic Bad Breath

One of the most common symptoms of dehydration manifests in the mouth. Xerostomia, more commonly known as ‘dry mouth’ results from a decrease in saliva production due to dehydration or other factors (such as medications, tobacco use or certain medical conditions). Saliva is a necessary component for regulating the population of microorganisms which live in your mouth. Dehydration and the consequential lack of saliva allows yeast and bacteria to flourish unchecked around your teeth, gums and tongue which can quickly transform a healthy mouth into a miasma of chronic bad breath.

  1. Foul Body Odor

Water facilitates the transport of waste materials out of the body. When you’re constantly dehydrated, said waste materials don’t necessarily make it out, but instead get stored away in cells for future removal. Over time, all of that leftover gunk can change your body chemistry for the worse. (Imagine it’s like leaving a full bag of kitchen waste in the garbage bin for too long.) Furthermore, dry and damaged skin caused by dehydration creates a perfect environment for odor-causing bacteria to kick back, relax and reproduce like microscopic rabbits.

Healing with Aromatherapy

AROMATHERAPY & ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential Oils are effectively the immune system of the plant kingdom. They are commonly steam or water distilled from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. There are various extraction methods, but whether these are obtained as oils, hydrosol, absolutes or CO2 extracts, they all contain the natural, aromatic and volatile plant oils used in Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for spiritual, psychological and physical well-being. Oils are typically inhaled or applied to the skin.

All of our products, with the exception of our 10-20% single notes, are natural, undiluted and of the highest quality. These concentrated oils must often be diluted with other natural ingredients such as cold-pressed carrier oils, jojoba, butters, waxes, sea salts and clays for dilution prior to application on the skin.

Our newest synergy is made with the Essential Oils of…Marjoram | Patchouli | Roman Chamomile | German Chamomile | Lemongrass | Tangerine | Peppermint | Ginger | Black Pepper | Cardamom | Fennel | Angelica Root

Tum-Ease is a therapeutic synergy formulated to alleviate digestive discomfort. May be helpful for cases of nausea, constipation, bloating and stomach ache.

It is comprised of 13 essential oils that have a special affinity for the digestive system. Due to the extensive amount of essential oils contained in Tum-Ease, it is able to address many stomach related issues.

HOW TO USE TUM-EASE

Tum-Ease can be applied topically to the skin.

Dilution: 5 drops of Tum-Ease Synergy to 5 ml of carrier oil, this will give you a more concentrated formula.

Massage onto abdomen in a clockwise direction, re-apply as needed.

For your convenience, you may also create a rollerball so it is handy wherever and whenever needed! Use the formula above as a guideline for dilution. Our rollerballs are 10 ml, so add 10 drops of Tum-Ease synergy and fill the rollerball with a carrier oil of your choice. We highly recommend Jojoba when making rollerballs as it never goes rancid the way vegetable oils do.

May your tummy be healthy and happy!

SAFETY

Tum-Ease is not advised for children or pregnant women. Those with epilepsy or kidney disease should avoid. Some of the oils in Tum-Ease may cause redness or irritation to the skin. In this case, dilute further or discontinue use.

Testimonial By Robin

Testimonial by Robin

I have been coming to Sunrise Wellness Spa since 2011.  I had my first facial in 2012.  I absolutely love the Eminence products, they are the greatest most effective skin care product.  I just celebrated my 40th birthday, my husband and I stopped at a gas station… I was asked to produce my ID!!!  Thank you Eminence and Sunrise Wellness Spa for my youthful look.

Robin came to Sunrise Wellness Spa to Basque in the royal treatment of a full body wrap to detoxify and rejuvenate. The dry brushing was invigorating and sluffed off the dead skin cells preparing my body for the Moor Mud which aids in the relief of many disorders. I experienced less muscular aches and pains, silky smooth skin and my joints felt young and youthful. I floated out of the treatment room. This is a feeling I have never felt before. I will be doing this again so I can experience all of the wraps the spa offers. I hugged every staff member for their great treatment and attention to detail.

Tea

Tea

Asiatica’s selection of loose leaf and blooming tea are of the highest caliber in quality, taste and fragrance.

Determination of appropriate water temperature so you will benefit from tea

There are many ways to determine when your water is hot enough for steeping your tea without the use of a thermometer.

  1. “Sheng Pien” meaning “sound distinguishing”. Using your ear you can distinguish three clear levels of heat.
At the first level, the water makes a low humming sound and is called medium-done, yin-yang, or baby water. Such water is never used for making tea and in fact is never used for anything in cooking, as yin-yang water is said to be unhealthy.
At the second level the water starts to pop noisily in your kettle or container. This is called mature water and is generally the right level for making tea.
At the third level, the water bubbles ferociously. This is called old man water or white hair water and is not used for making tea.

    2. ‘Chi Pien”, meaning “air distinguishing”. This method involves watching the steam as the water heats up.
At the first level, the steam rises in small streams, very slowly, gradually, and gently. This is baby water, which is unusable.
At the second level the steam rises at a moderate volume. This is about the right level for most teas.
At the third level the steam ascends at a high volume, like chunks of cloud. This indicates old man water and is no longer suitable to make tea.

    3. “Hsing Pien” meaning “form distinguishing”. This method involves looking at the bubbles in the water as it is being heated.
At the first level a number of small bubbles come up through the water from the bottom of the kettle of container. Because the bubbles are roughly the size of a crab’s eye, this is called crab-eye water.
At the second level the small bubbles begin to disappear, to be replaced by continuous streams of larger bubbles. This water is called fish-eye water and is approximately the right temperature for most teas.
At the third level the water is bubbling viciously and indicates old man water.

General brewing instructions

1) Put 1-2 teaspoon(s) of tea into your teapot. This is a general guideline as the amount of tea used can vary according to personal taste.
2) Rinse your tea by pouring approximately 125mL of hot water into the teapot, then pouring it out right after.
3) Pour in 500 ml of hot water per teaspoon of tea, adjusting the water to the suitable temperature with the methods detailed in ‘Determination of appropriate water temperature’, or by using a thermometer to reach the correct temperature for whichever tea type you are brewing.
4) Let tea steep for the amount of time corresponding to the type of tea. It is important to note that the longer you allow the tea to steep, the stronger the flavour becomes, and that the lengths of infusion and the water temperatures for all the tea types are approximate. You may always shorten, lengthen, decrease or increase all of the given information to suit your personal taste.

5) Strain tea (if desired), let cool (optionally) and enjoy!
White Tea
Length of infusion: 2-3 minutes      Water temperature: 80-85º C / 176-185º F

This unique tea came into popularity during the Song Dynasty in China, from 960-1279. It was so very valued and cherished that, in fact, they were suitable as offerings and gifts to the emperor.
At Asiatica, our most popular white teas are the silver needle, white peony tea and shou mei teas. In general, white tea is seen to have great health benefits as it is light in flavour yet heavily imbued with antioxidants.

Green Tea
Length of infusion: 1-3 minutes      Water temperature: 80-85º C / 176-185º F

The green tea has been a widely celebrated product since more than 4000 years ago. Legend goes that an emperor was drinking a cup of hot water when tea leaves fell into the cup, and thus tea was born.

Some of the most favoured teas at Asiatica are the jasmine dragon pearls, dragonwell, sencha and the royal bi luo chun. The most notable health benefits of green tea are the qualities that allow the prevention of cancer and heart disease, prevention of diabetes and stroke, aiding in digestion and even the strengthening of the immune system.

Oolong Tea
Length of infusion: 4-7 minutes      Water temperature: 90-100º C / 194-212º F

Also known as the black dragon tea, oolong tea dates back more than 500 years, before the 16th Ming dynasty. The exact origins of this specialty tea are unknown, but there have been three main theories as to these particulars. The oolong teas of Asiatica come from the high mountains of Taiwan.

Other than the mysterious airs regarding the ancestry of oolong tea, we are presently capable of enjoying this tea’s exclusive flavours with the categories offered by Asiatica, which include the ginseng oolong, milky oolong, oolong premium, oriental beauty, and the ti kuan yin. All these types of teas share the traits of increasing your metabolism which in turn helps with weight loss, the diminishment of concentrations of fat as well as facilitating digestion. Additionally, our ginseng oolong tea is an excellent choice for starting your mornings, with its energizing flavour and effects.

Black & Red Tea
Length of infusion: 4-6 minutes      Water temperature: 100º C / 212º F

This specific kind of tea came to be when the ancient Chinese found that as the tea leaves went through a fermentation process, the colour would darken and the potency would increase significantly. This type of tea would henceforth be known as black tea, for its darker hues. However, this sort of tea is also known as red tea, after the colouring of the liquid produced after the tea leaves are left to steep in hot water.

An assortment of red/black tea is kept in the stocks of Asiatica, with the most renowned being the keemun, lychee red tea, organic Earl grey, Taiwanese black tea and pu-erh. As with many other kinds of tea, black tea is loaded with antioxidants that can assist in the reduction of inflammation. Black tea also holds the cardiovascular benefits but a quality unique to the red and black tea is the reduction of the risk of coronary heart disease by fifty percent, as shown in a study of over 3000 adults in Saudi Arabia. In addition, unlike the other black teas, the pu-erh has its own unique benefit in that it naturally lowers cholesterol. Animal research suggests that pu-erh tea might lower certain blood fats called triglycerides as well as total and “bad” low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol

Herbal & Floral Tea
Length of infusion: 4-7 minutes      Water temperature: 100º C / 212º F
The dried, edible parts of all floral plants, including the stems, flowering buds, leaves and petals, are what make up the herbal and floral teas that we can taste from the collection from Asiatica. The practice of drinking herbal and floral tea dates back many centuries and has been explored by a large expanse of Asian and Western cultures, in which each culture has thoroughly enjoyed this art.

Rosebuds, camomile, lavender, chrysanthemum, osmanthus, organic chai mix: all of these herbal and floral teas that are sold at Asiatica have properties entirely specific to themselves. For example, the camomile tea’s most well-known traits are the ones that calm and bring sleep, comfort and a drowsy state. The rosebuds tea are known for increasing your blood circulation which can bring on a more youthful appearance, lavender relieves indigestion, chrysanthemum can help with anti-fever effects, osmanthus can improve skin and chai mix has anti-inflammatory characteristics. However, all of these teas share one property: they are all naturally healthy and delicious.
Yerba Mate Tea
Length of infusion: 2-4 minutes      Water temperature: 73-79º C / 165-175º F

The yerba maté tea is believed to have arisen from South America, with the Guarani people being its first harvesters and drinkers. The tree in which the leaves came from and the tea leaves themselves were considered gifts from the gods, and the drink was highly praised and cherished among the people.

Asiatica offers the organic yerba maté active, which actually contains extracts of vitamin C. As with the other categories of tea, the yerba maté tea reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, inflammation and risk of diseases. Another benefit, exclusive to this tea, is that the many amounts of powerful antioxidants in it are able to strengthen the natural defences of an organism, thus allowing safety from cellular destruction and even prevention of cancer.

Rooibos Tea
Length of infusion: 5-10 minutes    Water temperature: 100º C / 212º F

Rooibos tea originated more than 300 years ago, from the regions of Cederberg, South Africa. It is said that it was either the inhabitants of the mountainous area or the explorers and travellers that found the Rooibos leaves were suitable for the brewing of the tea. Henceforth, the Rooibos tea was born.

The massala chai and “after 8” are the organic rooibos teas that we keep in our store. Of the many health benefits stored in the drink that is steeped rooibos leaves in water, the main ones shared with the other types of tea are the positive antioxidants, cardiovascular benefits and lowering of blood pressure. However, the characteristics unique to this tea are the prevention of liver disease, of respiratory problems and of skin problems such as those who suffer from eczema.

Honeybush Tea

The first usage documented in 1705 and the first description published in 1808, the honeybush plant began its course as a tea leaf about 200 years ago in the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Bearing many similarities to the rooibos tea, the striking traits unique to the honeybush plant are its fragrance, which smells of honey, and its taste, which is sweeter than the rooibos tea, though equally as enjoyable.

Our organic, all-natural honeybush vanilla tea is sure to please anyone’s taste buds, with its delectable aromas and sweetness. We suggest a touch of milk, honey or sugar (or both!) to our honeybush tea to bring forth these scrumptious scents. The great health benefits of the rooibos tea are shared with the honeybush tea, with its antioxidants, lowering of blood pressure, prevention of liver disease and many others. Both teas are also completely natural, caffeine free, and are even able to aid in impeding the effects of ageing. In addition, this tea is also rich in vitamin C, iron, potassium and a variety of other minerals.

matcha-teaMatcha Tea

For Energy, Detox, Weightloss and Concentration

Matcha powdered green tea is a mood enhancing antioxidant powerhouse. A natural weightloss aid, PH Balancer and detox agent. A sugar-free coffee alternative without the jitters. Matcha is a premium green tea powder from Japan used for drinking as tea or as an ingredient in recipes. It is the heart of the Japanese way of tea and has been celebrated in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony for hundreds of years. Matcha contains L-theanine, an amino acid known to relax the mind. For this reason, matcha is also known as a mood enhancer. Buddhist monks drank matcha to assist in meditation, as matcha’s amino acids, combined with caffeine, offer a sustained calm alertness over time. Amino acids are also what gives matcha is distinctive taste. They contribute to what is known as the fifth taste, or umami, characterized by a rich creamy mouth feel. Matcha is renowned for numerous health benefits. It is rich in nutrients, antioxidants, fiber and chlorophyll. The health benefits of matcha exceed those of other green teas because matcha drinkers ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water. One glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of green tea in terms of nutritional value and antioxidant content.

Chlorophyll and amino acids give matcha its unique rich taste, an initial vegetal, astringent taste, followed by a lingering sweetness. Matcha made in the traditional Japanese style, whisked with water, is a full-bodied green tea. The intensity of the experience compares to one’s first taste of dark chocolate or red wine. When added as an ingredient, the taste of matcha becomes subtler. It adds the flavor and color of green tea to your creation, be it a smoothie, latte, savory sauce or pastry.

matcha-whiskHow to Prepare Matcha Tea

Step One – Sift 1-2 tsp matcha into a cup using a small sifter

Step Two – Add 2 oz hot water. For best results use water just under a boil.

Step Three – Whisk vigorously in a zig zag motion until the tea is frothy.

Step Four – Enjoy your matcha tea straight from the bowl.

OR

Try 1 tsp of matcha. Add a few drops of hot water and mix into a paste with a spoon. Then add 6 oz of water. Adjust measurement to suit taste.

Eminence Customized Facial – Before and After

Eminence Customized Facial – Before and After

Robin came in for an Eminence Customized Facial and we asked her to partake in Before and After Photos.

Robin is a regular enthusiast of Eminence. She has facials with the change of the seasons. This time she was concerned about the “puffiness” under her eyes.

She was excited to use her 18th wedding anniversary gift certificate from her husband Johnny.

The Facial Geraldine chose was to target dark spots and tone her beautiful freckles as well as address her puffy eyes.

After the consultation Geraldine chose to use the Red Currant and Monoi Age Corrective Cleansers. The Red Currant Rapid Infusion Masque, layered with the Balancing Masque Duo and the Lime Stimulating Masque. Geraldine then added the Bright Skin Masque. Experiencing the benefit of 4 masques working together is the luxury of booking a facial. This is a great way to address concerns you have with your complexion and experience so many products at once.

As the masques were working their effectiveness on her skin Robin enjoyed a relaxing arm and shoulder massage to release tension and to fully begin to relax.

The serum of choice was the Citrus & Kale with Potent C & E as well as the Bright Skin Booster Serum. These serum address healing and regeneration for our skin as the hot days of summer have now started to come to an end in Saskatchewan.

To continue with the Facial Geraldine needed to address Robin’s original concern. Her Eyes. The treatment consisted with using the Naseberry Eye Exfoliant, the Raspberry Eye Masque and then a Cucumber Eye Gel. The Cucumber Eye Gel really addresses the puffiness that Robin was concerned about. The Wild Plum Eye Cream was then added to diminish any remaining dark circles. We finished with a Neroli Eye Serum.

We completed the Facial with the Red Currant Moisturizer containing SPF 30 as well as the Water Resistant SPF 30 Sun Defense.

Robin was thrilled with the improvement of her eyes and skin and took home the Cucumber Eye Gel to continue getting these results at home.

Eminence did it again! We love Eminence!!!

Holiday Plan

HOLIDAY PLAN ~ Geraldine Barrett

As summer quickly passes I reflect on my holiday and how I altered my plans.

I had planned to travel southern Saskatchewan, visit family and celebrate my mom’s 95th birthday for my holiday.  In between I would visit some new towns to take in their museums and restaurants. Tourism Saskatchewan has a great Discovery Guide; “See Sask First”. There are many hidden treasures in our beautiful province. However; my plan changed quickly.  My oldest sister was moving into a condo and needed to be out of her house.  She had a lifetime of treasures to go through and was exasperated as how to get started.  I made the decision to “shift gears” and help her.

Many of us experience intense days getting ready to leave on holidays and are exhausted before we even leave.  Cranky none the less! I decided I needed some TLC so I booked a body wrap and a facial at Sunsera Spa in Saskatoon as I headed out on my holiday. Rather than rush down the highway eating a sub I enjoyed a nice supper at the Granary in Saskatoon.  I had a wonderful waiter who added the perfect touch to my holiday.

The next day my sister and I surveyed what needed to be done and how to proceed. I had a plan in my head and we started our task. Pauly who is a dear friend was a faithful worker alongside us.  More friends showed up along the way to pitch in.  The hours were long and emotions were high at times.  It’s hard to pack up memories. I’m so glad I’d had my spa treatments. I was more relaxed and energized to work and deal with all the emotions with love.

I managed a visit to my youngest sisters’ home who lives 20 km from Grasslands Park where we grew up. Three of us 4 girls plus our niece and her husband did a tour and visited the family and grandparents farm.  What memories. I slept over at my sisters’ home that evening which was wonderful.  I spent an hour walking through her beautiful yard as it is like the Bouchard Gardens. Her husband is so creative and particular.

We celebrated mom’s 95th birthday taking many pictures and making memories. I also took a drive to the lake and had a nice visit with my son and his beautiful family.

Back to sorting, purging, cleaning and hugs or we would never have gotten through this undertaking. The garage sale took place on Thursday from 6 – 8 and Friday from 9 – 4. It was in the garage – driveway – the lawn – the patio – the deck – and 2 rooms in the house. We were busy! By 9:00 pm Friday night the garage was clean and the patio and deck tables were gone. Loretta & I had a dance in the garage! We were exhausted as 12 – 14 hour days had taken a toll on us.

I booked a body wrap & a full body massage at Wrapture Spa in Moosejaw. I was exhausted and needed to rejuvenate.  The Eminence wrap was very relaxing and the deep tissue massage was invigorating as the stress and tension oozed out of my body. Vicki did an amazing job.

Why am I sharing this story? I want to emphasize how important having a full body massage and/or a body wrap before and after a holiday can make the difference from enjoying a holiday or ENDURING it while secretly wishing you were home. What did you learn from my story? Plan your holiday – schedule your massage and add it to your holiday budget. For you and your spouse. The benefit is you will be more relaxed, less stressed and ENJOY each other during your holiday.

Conclusion: Make your holiday a wonderful success. Have a massage before you leave and be sure to keep the appointment. Everyone will love you! Especially You!

Water

Reasons Why You Should Drink More Water

Water by Abby Phon March 20, 2012 2:20 PM Edited by Verlie 07-13-2016

I’ve often been complimented on my clear, youthful skin. I thank my water intake! As with most things, the amount of water for each person is very individual, but if your pee isn’t mostly clear or you have any of the symptoms I mentioned above, you most likely aren’t getting enough water. Some suggest 8 (8oz) glasses a day while others suggest take your body weight (in pounds), divide it in half and drink that many ounces.

If you don’t care for the taste of nothing, add lemon, lime, fresh mint, a few berries, watermelon, or a few slices of cucumber or orange. Love is a glass of water!

A Cardiac Doctor has reported gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs, etc.) is level with the kidneys, it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier.

Message from a Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body.
2 glasses after waking up – helps activate internal organs
1 glass 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion
1 glass before taking a bath – helps lower blood pressure
1 glass before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack and also may prevent night time leg cramps. Leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

A Doctor wrote an interesting book on the benefits of drinking water. He recommends his patients drink water for at least 30 days and return in one month. His report was the majority of his patients no longer had any symptoms they previously came in with.

Don’t Medicate, Hydrate!

  1. Increase Energy & Relieves Fatigue

Your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. As an added bonus, energy levels are also boosted!

  1. Promote Weight Loss

Removes by-products of fat, reduces eating intake (consumed prior to meals), reduces hunger (natural appetite suppressant!), raises your metabolism and has zero calories!

  1. Flush Out Toxins

Gets rid of waste through sweat and urination which reduces the risk of kidney stones and urinary tract infections.

  1. Improve Skin Complexion

Moisturizes your skin, keeps it fresh, soft, glowing and smooth. Gets rid of wrinkles. It’s the best anti-aging treatment around!

  1. Maintain Regularity

Aids in digestion as water is essential to digest your food and prevents constipation.

  1. Boost Immune System

A water guzzler is less likely to get sick. Drinking plenty of water helps fight against flu, cancer and other ailments.

  1. Natural Headache Remedy
